I Have Hope

Let's face it, life can be hard. Troubles come and troubles go. Sometimes it feels like nothing but trouble and distress come our way. It feels like we can't get our footing under us. 

Have you ever tried to get your footing on ice or fresh mud? It can take your legs right from underneath you. Oftentimes it is deceptive. The ground looks firm and stable. You take that step and before you know, you're in trouble. We fight to maintain balance.  Sometimes we can't and we fall. 

Trouble after trouble coming our way feels like that unsteady step on the mud or ice. If we could just be assured that our foundation was firm, we certainly could better face the troubles ahead.

In these times of trouble we can have a firm foundation in the hope of Jesus Christ. Because of the great love of our God, we have hope. Love always wins.

The author of ‭Lamentations said, “Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” (Lamentations 3:21-23 NIV‬). Our God is filled with compassion and He is faithful. In the troubles we face His love is our foundation. The hope He provides is our firm footing. It is because of Him we can persevere through the troubles of life. It is because of Him, we can have hope when all else seems bleak. 

Place your hope in Jesus Christ. In the good times and in the bad times.
