Peace

I don’t think I've ever met a person who doesn’t want peace. I think most, if not all of us, dream of a world with no violence or wars. We all want world peace.

I think we all want internal peace too. In fact, I think it is internal peace that leads us to world peace.  I don’t think one happens without the other.

Proverbs 3:17 says, “Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace.” When using the pronoun “her” the author is pointing back to something that was spoken about in a previous verse. In this case the pronoun references “wisdom” (Proverbs 3:13).

Paul in his first letter to the church in Corinth said, “but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.” (1 Corinthians 1:24). We are wise to put our faith in Jesus. Paul goes on to say that the foolishness of God is wiser than any human wisdom. To me that means at some point we will face something that we are struggling to understand, and in those cases, we should stop trying to understand.

Instead, trust in the wisdom of God. When we do this, fear and anxiety are crushed. Peace takes over and reigns supreme. While we may not fully comprehend, we can trust in the wisdom of our God. Afterall, it was through His wisdom that Jesus Christ restored us as fully forgiven children of God.

Be Blessed and Be a Blessing,
Matt
