Easter Week Prayer Vigil 2024

Thank you for volunteering to pray during our Prayer Vigil. Before Jesus was arrested, he went to the garden at Gethsemane to pray. He asked his follower to keep watch. As we hold this vigil we declare our intention to keep watch over by covering our church, community, and world in prayer. You can pray at home or you can pray at the church and we are grateful you have chosen to join us in this 12-hour prayer vigil.

If you will be praying at the church:

  • Matt will be at the church all night.  For security reasons, you will never be alone in the building. 
  • You can sit, stand, kneel, lay down, walk around... whatever position you are most comfortable.
  • If you would like to listen to music while you pray, please bring headphones or earbuds. There may be others praying who would prefer quite.
  • Feel free to bring a drink or snack with you.
  • We want you to be comfortable. 
  • When you time is finished, please exit quietly. There is no reason to wait for next person to arrive. They may be praying at home. 

If you will be praying at the home:

  • A livestream of the cross at the church will start at 8:00 pm. We recommend putting this on your computer, TV, or phone while you pray.
  • There are two streams of the cross due to restrictions from our host. The needed links are below
  • Please pray at the time you signed up for so that we can assure there will be someone praying for the entire Vigil
  • If you have technology issues, please proceed with prayer without the technology.  

For all who will be praying:

You can pray for whatever or whoever you feel you'd like to during the vigil. If you are unsure of what to pray, the following are provided as possible subjects to pray for:
  • Pray the Lord's Prayer
  • Pray for the following:
    • Your family
    • Your friends
    • If at the church, walk around the church praying for each of the people who will sit in the chairs this Easter Sunday
    • Our Pastors, Staff, and Elders
    • All who will join us for worship this Sunday
    • For the homes of the families that live around the church.
    • For the neighborhood
    • For our city
    • For our county
    • For our state and country
    • Peace across the globe
